I’m sure this may be old hat to some of you, but late last night I was cruising the t.v. stations, and stopped dead in my tracks when I happened upon this NATURE special, “Condition Black”…about the giant swell that hit Northshore O’ahu the winter of '99. This was an amazing PBS documentary which focused on how brian keaulana and his crew hooked up with Imax to coordinate the filming of kenny bradshaw, ross clarke-jones, and other big wave riders sliding down these monster waves at Logs. If you haven’t seen it, keep your eyes peeled. the video is 20 bucks, (if you’ve missed it)…the number…(800) 336-1917. WOW!!!

I saw a program last night on two Brazilian surfers riding a wave down the Amazon river. If I remember correctly, it seems that this wave happens once every year in the brown, bubbling Amazon.

I saw both shows last night. The first (@ logs) was indeed incredible. The Amazon one was pretty cool to but I cringed thinking about what was in the river. I just received a PBS video for Xmas called "Liquid (darn, the name excapes me), anyway, it is about the history of surfing and the reason it draws people into it. It also shows how it really began in the islands and stuff. Lots of old footage up to the present. Really good video. GF
