This board is a 5’6" Tri Fin with my Felix tail , Eps Greenroom Epoxy , Custom G-10 Fins sized and designed for this board.
I call it the Hovercraft by the way it rides .
Thanks in advance
hey Greg, maybe you can be next volunteer at bat on the shaper’s hot seat Q/A section.
Then maybe Robin Mair, Jim Phillips, Mike Daniels, Bert Burger, Josh Dowling, Huie and Bill Barnfield light follow.
I have no doubts about this thing, but for the less informed can you explain the principles on what makes it work since this is such a radical and new concept for people to grasp onto?
And what’s makes it ride different than your 5 fin design…
Nice!
Yes, but it is a fine line you have to walk before it turns to marketing. Barry Snyder does it well. Posts cool boards, answers question, and doesn’t brag.
The Coil thread, and the Stoker thread went too far into advertising and were sent to surf shop forum.
Good luck.
Its frezzing freaking cold here today. People posting pictures of tropical places is really pissing me off right now. HA!!!
Nice to see a slight fracturing of the norm.
bert burger, loehr, bruce
you name it
its been here
Manny started his career here as well as many others
I’d rather talk about design than materials
I think design solves many more issues with boards than materials ever will
surftech, firewire, aviso and libtech are all examples of that problem.
I say let em come they know more about what do to to make one of these things
than 99% of those that come here and 99.99% of those on the surfer design BB.
These are customs I make for individual customers .
Its my business so it is Marketing and Spamming .
Along with that I exsplain my designs and how they work .
Making surfers happy till this day since 1967 .
This should be be great fun , will you “Allow” it ?
Greg;
There have been many times when you have posted up stuff that could be considered “advertizing” by the less-informed. Please keep going and putting up some of your more recent stuff. Hope you are in good health and still pushing the pedal! I would really like to see Simpo on one of your Sunset boards out front this week. Thanks for the lunch pic, Pops is about my speed! LOL
On another note: It looks like the downhill at Snow Summit is kaput (kapu) for now, with Mammoth Mountain in the mix, who knows what’s in the future. I’m an old man now, so only do trails in the summer, so all is well on the hill. Hope to catch you next time you do a thing on the mainland. Thanks for all the help over the years! BKB
Really interesting fin setup!
you have permission
I would like to do a continual thread of my customs with random shots that I think those here will enjoy along with descriptions of these boards .
As a board bulider it will be marketing but not of the negative type .
With descriptions of why I make them as I do .
…Im a board builder and Im not put any thread about my work; plus I always try to let tips in many threads.
I do not see that from other (current) professional board builders or shapers, except Barry Snyder and sometimes couple more guys.
Im ok with your photos and work but what s the difference or what s will be the difference with the MD or DS boards?
They talk a lot about their designs; plus their customers interact too; specially in the Coil one.
So to be fair this thread would be good but may be belongs to another part of the forum.
Can you explain the reason you built this style of board and why the fins are the way they are. I notice you have 2 versions of fin setups.
Greg - you are always welcome to post pics and descriptions of your surfboards! But there are a few things to be aware of, I have sent you a PM.
Reverb - you are also welcome to post pics and descriptions of your surfboards too.
And if either of you, or anyone else out there, has a website, you are welcome to put a link in your signature.
We aren’t rigid about the rules here, there is a lot of flexibility, but we do respect them and when we deem necessary, enforce them.
The rules are simple:
No personal attacks.
Stick to the topics of the various forums.
Please NO advertising in The General Discussion.
Please keep things you want to sell, promote, advertise etc, in the classifieds or the Marketplace Forum.
I am fine with posting customs in separate posts.
It says Gerneral Forum and I would like to post pictures of interest as well .
I will be selling my fins in the market place and talk about their design here time to time .
Yes, I’d like to hear this also.
Thanks,
