I’ve been using Photobucket for posting photos on forums for something like ten years now. No trouble, just copy and paste the URL.Recently on this forum though the post shows the URL but doesn’t actually display the photo! Anybody else been having the same issue with Photobucket? It’s a bit of a drag.
Example:
If you’re getting a photo then it’s working. If you’re not then you’re getting what I’m getting ie just the text.
I’ve been trying for half an hour now. I have tried what Paul suggested and all I got was a blue question mark in the corner. How did you get my link to show up Huck?
Okay, turns out I needed to be copying the “Direct” link. This is not the one Photobucket recommends for forums and message boards. Anyway, it seems to work so that’s good.
looks like you got it figured out, the picture is showing in your post now. The images seem larger than they need to be for posting, but I can’t tell file size, so maybe it doesn’t matter. I don’t know photobucket at all, I use flickr which gives you options on size. I also use MS Paint to resize photos and then I can post them as a file attachment. Normally. But right now I’m on my mom’s computer, and it just gives me an error message when I try. It seems the photo sharing sites are getting a little more cagey about giving out image URLs for posting, most seem to want to add a link to their site in the process, and they’re making it more difficult to find the straight image URL by itself.
