Pink xps suggested shaping tools

I’ve already checked the archives and the only info I get is that the pink xps foam is hard to shape with a sureform and a planer. Any suggestions on what is a good tool for this foam. My home depot makes sheets that are 2 inches thick.

Hot wire and 36-40 grit paper. Are you aware of it’s reputation to “gas-off” and cause delamination??

Yea sandpaper in low grits (and blocks), I haven’t really had problems surforming with a sharp blade, you might want to try making a rig with a belt sander and plywood where the belt can only go a certan depth so it kinda acts like a planer.

Thanks, I’ve already made one. A horrible one made just by sanding…forever. But it was fun and I had no problems with delam.
