How do I get the Pin stripes perfect?? I’ve spent hours taping rails with 1/8" tape and in the end it still does not look like the boards in the shops. I’ve also tried cutting 2" tape with exacto knives, still not perfect. Thanks Sonny hendrix
Sonny, refer to the colored lap pinlines question entered a day ago.
Sorry! three days ago.
what are u pin striping?? if ur just doing like a pin to cover a rail band just tape aroudn the rail band and then take out ur marker with ur hiar dryer, and follow the tape. if ur trying to do like pin designs with markers, u should do one side, and take dems of how far it is from a given point. then make little dots, then connect them. if ur using pin tape, get a better eye. if ur doing resin pins, just work on ur taping. hope i helped u there at all, im not sure what kinda pin ur talking dj
Howzit Sonny, What is the exact problem? Is the tape off not straight or uneven. Some people have a problem doing the tape off and need a scribe tool. Another thing is 1/8 inch tape is not what you should use since it’s hard to keep it straight. Use a minimum width of at least 1/2" tape or wider,it makes a big difference. Stringer tape (1/8" and 1/4" ) are not always straight and have a kink in the roll. I see this a lot when I’m taping off stringers. It’s a problem that happens when the tape is sliced off a wider roll, which is how they cut the widths. Aloha, Kokua
