Plywood for Geppy style keels

Hi, I’m in San Diego and been looking everywhere for a place to buy the proper plywood to make some keels out of similar to the kind Rick Clow and Geppy use.    Closest I’ve come was Frost hardwood but when I foiled I saw some plys were different grain and color.  Looking for some plywood that’s more uniform.   Thanks!

What plywood were you using?

Generally baltic birch is void free and consistent.

Years ago it was said one wants Finnish birch plywood and not the Russian ‘baltic’ birch.

Some ‘marine’ plywood is unimpressive to say the least.

look into aircraft grade plywood online

Aircraft Spruce in Corona sells aircraft ply, and that stuff is awesome for fins.

I pick through the scrap bin of my buddies cabinet shop. High quality baltic birch ply. No voids.  Cheap stuff has bad voids. Mike
