Point of interest: SHARK ATTACK !

Thanks for knowing the geography at Playa Linda, What type of beach is Pantla? The Solana Bch incident last month seemed odd because its largly bluff beach break without a lot of seal or fish life and a gradual bottom contour, deeper water is way out there, similar to San Onofre where those pesky juvenile whites are hanging around year after year, are they there this year? probably drawn by the scent of a whale buried on the beach a few years ago.

Howzit surfteach, Here on Kauai it's the opposite. Since the ban on taking turtles was introduced in the mid 70's we have more turtles in the lineup and they are a favorite of tiger sharks. Tigers bite off 1 flipper so the turtle can only swim in circles and makes for an easy meal.Aloha,Kokua

I’m not familiar with Pantla but it sounds like bamboozle is posting from

that area so he’d know.

Pantla (a.k.a. Buena Vista) also with rivermouth and estuarine areas as well - just a few kilometers from Playa Linda. The three incidents actually occurred along three consecutive stretches of beach. Check out Google Earth at coordinates 17 deg 43’ 23" N, 101 deg 39’ 48" W mouth of Rio de Pantla; Playa Linda to the South, Buena Vista and Troncones to the north. No local rain yet (one sprinkling last week) but could be starting up in the Sierra Madre. This time of year all is real dry including most watercourses. Most are just waiting for the rains to start.

surfteach, interesting bullshark link. The profile sure fits the location.

The most recent bite was on none other than Florida’s own shaper, Bruce Grimes. Recently moved to Mex. Godspeed.
