remake, worst surf film ever? I want my 2 hours back. I know. I should have known.
Definitely not a surf film. I think it was supposed to be an extreme sports movie/action film. Apparently they had top people performing for each specialty area/extreme sports scene. I think the idea was to broaden the audience for a new generation and showcase extreme “sports.”
It only loosely followed the theme of the originial. Very different. More action than dialogue.
There is no replacement for Gary Busey - the though of watching the remake is only disappointment.

I must admit I have not watched the movie but when I saw the trailer, I thought, extreme sports!
Story was weak, def not a surfing movie, but saw it in 3D and loved the action / nature photography.

remake of a B movie released during Star Wars hype…nerd at work has already seen Star Wars 4 times…bet my ding repairs come out much better that yours…regardless of how thick you think my skin is.

It’s a big screen 3D kinda movie, just sayin’. Wife wants to go one more time while we can still see it 3D on big screen.
If you try comparing it to the first, or if you’re expecting a surf flick, or if you analyze the story, or if you watch it in 2D, you probably won’t like it. It’s like a ride at Magic Mtn, just strap in, hang on, and enjoy the ride.
The point-of-view and fresh perspective photography and the stunts (extreme sports) are really amazing. It’s like a Raymond Chandler novel, the plot is just a weak excuse for the action, lol. IMO 
Hopfully this will turn all the weak minded off surfing and they can get back to thier video games. Wake me when it’s over.
