Typically I finish my boards with a semi-gloss urethane which I buff with scotch-brite for a matte finish. While purchasing for another project, the thought occured that it should be possible to get the gloss version and polish for a shine. Is this possible? How?
The gloss version really doesn’t need to be polished, but you can. First let it dry for at least a week. Then slow speed, lots of water and minimal compound. Burns very easily, so watch the rails. Try it on one of the semi-gloss boards you already have, if you don’t like the look just scotch-brite it again.
