I am about to finish my board and I want to polish it. What type of polish should I use. What speed should my polisher be at slow or fast

The advice that I used, and FINALLY got to work, was this:

  • Sand hotcoat down to 120

  • Clean board GOOD with a little soapy water then acetone, let dry

  • Gloss

  • Sand gloss with 324 wet/dry, then 400 or 500 wet/dry (I used 400, dry)

  • Do yourself a favor and buy some Shurlustre, use just a few dabs with a wool bonnet on your sander and go to town…

  • Use a little McGuire’s #9 Swirl Remover with a wool or teery cloth bonnet to remove the swirls…

I was very happy with the results (after 5 or 6 boards worth of trying different methods…) Here’s a pic.

I am having a hard time find that Shureluster stuff. Where do you buy it? This is not it, is it?

Thats not the sureluster you want.You can by the surfboard compound from Fiberglass Hawaii in Santa Cruz.
