im looking for polyurethane foam but for cheep, ill need about 5 feet and it dose not need a stringer or anything, im gonna make a paipo and where i get my foam for surfboards (fiberglass supply) dose not have the length or width im looking for, ive been looking for foam stock and have come u with nothing. anybody have any sites? cheers!

use A/B pour foams…multiple densitys avalable from 2lb…40lb…fiberglasssupply.com…uscomposites.com…carry these plus other types of core materials
3 lb EPS is about the same weight
i don’t really wanna get a foam that you pour in. .i wanna go with the way to shape a surfboard like with the regular blank, but i need to get one to fit a bodyboard template. and it has to be able to not melt when using epoxy resin. cheers

Howzit hansel, You could use the long end of a broken long board and strip the glass off, ergo a blank.Aloha,Kokua
epoxy resin will not melt foam. not eps not PU. polyester will melt eps and xtr.
kokua, i know about the long board but nobody seems to have one, my buddy might have one but i don’t know. i have a green foam that i think might work its called “polystyrene” will this work? i mentioned melting of the foam but forgot that epoxy hardens at a lower temp. and should work. will polystyrene work you think? cheers!

go ask nicely over at the bunger shop if he can get you as second or maybe he has a second that he can sell you.
Can you get “Kingspan” or “Celotex” insulation sheeting where you are? Ask at your local builders yard, it is apparently the industry standard nowadays. Seems to me that it is ideal for boards but have only done test pieces with glass so far, not a whole board. Bonds well, shapes well, nice and strong. It’s polyeurethane foam sheet so you can glass it with whatever the hell you like.
