I am trying to print an outline using aps 3000 but can’t seem to figure out how. I looked through the archives and on the aps website but still nothing. I have access to a plotter that can handle about any size board I could ever dream up, so being able to plot an outline and look at it from different angles would be awsome. anybody have any ideas?
the aps3000 software was designed for boards to be cut in the aps3000 machine. the only way i can think of is screen capture the board outline then trace it in illustrator then cut it. or make a pdf from the print menu the convert it in illustrator.
Down load www.shape3d.com and you can print out full size plan and rocker templates. you can also look at a 3d wire view and shape your design in that view, work a few of the icons and you will find it. if you have trouble get back to me

don’t you need the full version (NOT THE DEMO) to be able to save and print your outlines in Shape3D??
Yeah, tried that awhile ago. Don’t want to drop the cash when I have a great program for free(aps3000). I just read somewhere in the archives that you could take a file to kinkos and have them print it out full size, do I just need to take a .brd file over there?
no…kinkos can’t read a “*.brd” file. the best way to do it is to take a screenshot and put the outline into a program like Adobe Illustrator in exactly the same size as you want it printed. alternatively, you can take a screen shot and save it as an image file or save it as a PDF file. then, bring it to kinkos and they can put it into Adobe Illustrator for you…you would just need to walk them through the actual size of the template being printed.
Thanks for all your help guys. looks like I’m gonna go the Illustrator route and try to plot it at work. Thanks again for the info. I let you know how it works.
just print/save it to pdf then use illustrator… it soo easy
