put it in photoshop, crop it as close to the nose and tail lines as you can, then resize the image to the # of inches that you want (youll have to change the scaling from pixels to inches)…then you can just print it full size, no scaling necessary!
Here is a quick layout of how I go from APS3000 to full scale sized images. I use photoshop to scale the images I hope this little word document helps.
FWIW Boardcad prints with a grid in the background which makes it easier to align each sheet. A SUP is going to give you alot of sheets though, but if you have access to an A3 printer you’re already down to half. Instead of taping sheets together just dust spray you template material with spray glue and stick the sheets right on the template material. Snap a chalk line for alignment. You only need to cut one edge of each sheet normally. In theory you should be able to specify a custom size sheet of paper for the printing on a roll and get it at the correct size directly from boardcad, but there have been some odd problems with that. We’ll see if we can add printing of spin templates from boardcad to help some time in the future, but don’t hold your breath waiting. Good luck.
oh… sorry bout that… if you want you can give me your email and i have a bunch of templates that i can email you and if you do what i said when you print them out it works out right i believe… but they came from a shaping DVD so thats probly why it didnt work for you… pm me and let me know if you want them.
The problem is that some printers print to the edge of the paper and some don’t, so you need to adjust the margins in the print dialog accordingly. In addition the print may be skewed and scaled in the printer mechanism as well as some printers doesn’t run the paper straight through the printer or slips, etc. If you print in boardcad, you have a one inch background grid in the background that you can measure the accuracy against.
