For those of you who don’t know him, Ward is a master shaper in Santa Cruz who hand shapes everything from the classics he won the shapeoff doing (Haut Bump model from the 60’s), to latest generation stub quads, and everything in between. Also a devoted family man, and always one of the hottest surfers in the lineup.
So here’s a public shout-out for a guy who has quietly been perfecting his craft for decades, while taking care of his family and living the life.
Congratulations, Ward. Makes me feel old, though. Were about the same age so he couldn’t be old enough to be a master… Could he? He also had a beautiful round pin at his booth that had me foaming at the mouth. Mike
