i use the stealth googles by uvex. the best i found for itchy glass dust and wood particles. Jack
I sometimes use my full-face respirator with particle cartridges. Zero dust in eyes and lungs. Downside(s) are it’s hot and cumbersome.
Best,
Herb
…i have problems with this type of googles (not proved the uvex yet…) cause dont much well with the respirator…
…sorry the typing,… dont match well
thanks
dustless sander, shorts, slippers, dust mask, any saftey glasses…
when the sander is not pumping out dust it dosn’t get on you or in your eyes…
…hey jjp, if you sand a lot, a dust mask and a safety googles are not good items…
with this type of googles, the dust penetrates in your eyes, all paper masks are insufficient… the “sky” like googles dont fit properly with the 3m , moldex or masprot respirators…also you ve got to mantain your head down all the time to properly watch the job…
not the answer you are after, but I used a large fan to blow the dust away from me. Then I just wore safety glasses and paper mask. Thinking I might want to upgrade my $25 HF sander with a $300 dustless though. Did not like the paste all over the place after finishing the wet sanding. Still have white dots on my plants that were near the sanding area.
…what type of dustless system?
…i always sand with a sander with a softpad attached…also with an orbital one…
Don’t know much about them…but several here have talked about them.
Thread: http://www.swaylocks.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=179830#179830 talks about a Festool model. My question is how does it work with powerpads? Maybe they have special dustless Festool PowerPads. I still need to learn more, but it caught my attension.
Anyone care to share there dustless sander experiences?
How does it work with power pads?
Does it work when sanding wet?
thanks
