PU filler?

i just finished up reshaping a donor board but their were a few gouges in the bottom that i couldnt sand down to in order to keep the floatation. what should i use to fill these? ( q-cell?)

input is appreciated

Yeah, either Q-cell or shape dust mixed with resin.

It depends

If the board is to remain white q cel will do as I think it makes the resin white, or you could mix some white pigment with resin, as poeple do for finboxes. If you are to paint the blank, just resin will do as it will be painted over with the color.

You have to be careful though when sanding, it is quite easy to sand to much foam off around the resin fill. Maybe the foam dust mix might be a better option in that case.

In any case, unless you are painting on the the sanded hot coat, it will still be slightly noticable.

Good luck

Howzit windwaves, First I would try using a heat gun or hair dryer to bring up some of the foam and then use some spackle and paint the board white to even out the color. You can also then paint the board with any design or color you want or just keep it white.Aloha,Kokua
