Was debating building my own noserider but space to shape and glass a longboard is a problem for me. So I did the next best thing and bought one of Austin's masterpieces. It should be noted that I chose this board from a huge selection of longboards. This one edged out two Bing's that I was also considering. If it rides half as good as it looks I'm in good shape.
Look closely at the fin-box on the second photo. Now, please refer to that other thread “On for the glassers” from a few days ago. One of the things I said in this other thread was this:
“You should also take into account the color (or lack of) of the board.
Installing a black box in a basic white board (untinted) with white
resin is OK. But if you install a black box in a colored board like this
Brewer, black resin will be much better. Again, if you are sure that
your box will stand right in the middle of the hole, with exactly the
same width of resin around it everywhere, then OK, go with white. It
will even add a nice touch of fine workmanship. But frankly, how many of
you can be sure to pull that out?”
Now, decide where talent and craftsmanship really is…
Not only is this board a work of art, it is a fantastic rider. Just got home from my first session on it and I am thrilled with how it performed. Absolutely fantastic noserider.
I’m hoping to get some better shots within the next week. I’ve already had 2 close calls with it with kooks dropping in on me and falling. There seems to be a party wave mentality here among the kooks. I have no problem sharing a wave with one of my buddies who I know and trust but nothing pisses me off more than an out of town pasty skinned kook dropping in and falling. I hate summer.
