qcell and epoxy

Can i mix qcell to epoxy to make a filler???

Yes.

I’ve mixed epoxy and q cell on numerous occasions. Never had any problems.

…why q-cell?

The guy from my epoxy shop told me to use talc powder instead of qcell If I want to make it thicker and better for sanding.

And it is harmless for your lungs.

Q-cell - I think - Is like Kleenex, a brand name for micro spheres, which are tiny glass like hollow beads - they come out of the earth like even smaller beads and are then heated and expand (my ancient memory from working in a dry wall finishing product manufacturing plant)

The point is, it is supper light, and easy to sand… But, if you add to much it gets soft. Add a little cabo-sil, for strength, but too much - or pure cab = hard as a rock…

I prefer Qcell for ding repair because it makes resin “foamy” and light, a consistency like whipped cream. It is easily shaped with a surform knife, sandpaper or sanding screen.

Cabosil (fume silica) is used to make resin pasty but not lighter. It yields a consistency like old-time Elmer’s glue you could eat when you were a kid. Cabosil-thickened resin is a lot like plain resin when you want to shape it.

Both will thicken the resin, but in different ways.

Fume silica is bad to breathe. Google “silicosis”. Dunno what’s in Qcell but I would avoid inhaling that as well.
