Looking for some help on fin placement on a 9’4" SUP I just finished up in Belize. Im glassing on the fins. Its mainly going to be used on waste to shoulder high fairly gutless reef breaks. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Lots of quad fin placement info but nothing about putting quads on a Stand Up… that I could find anyway. Thanks
8" and 17.5" from tail.
Thanks for the input. How about distance from the rail and toe in?
How wide is the tail and how wide is the wide point?
Repsectfully disagree.
PSH does 16" for front and rear 7 7/8 behind fronts. about 1 3/8 off rail for both.
C4 does 16" for front and rear 8 1/8 behind fronts. About 1 3/8 to 1 1/2 off rail.
PSH quads rip harder than most.
Blane gave the measurements away on his Facebook page.
What is not being considered here is the amount of tail rocker in addition to fin size, type, tail width, bottoms contours, etc. On my shapes, I use less tail rocker than Blane does so I push the fins more forward (about an inch or two). There is no set formula on fin placement. Blane did shape me a 10-6 Chamber's Haul and that board rips (better than my boards). His boards are cutting edge and years ahead of the other guys. I love his design ideas and his ability to visualize and mind surf! It's is amazing what he can create in his home at Wahiawa Heights. It should be a Mecca for all PSH riders.

Corridor this placement is to far apart. Pic below is before. Mahalo, Larry
Corridor, In a SUP world you may want to rethink just doing your board as a Quad because unlike surfing you are riding higher on water and your fins are under consist load. Five fin would be the way in a SUP world my friend. Mahalo,Larry
Hey Larry thanks for the input. Im just getting back to this. Whats the measurment to the actual fin or rather how much fin sticks beyond the probox. Im glassing on the fins. It looks like 3/8 to a 1/2 of an inch. Also how much toe in.
