I’m working on a 6 3 Quad and was looking for some input on the tail and rails.
Tail - What kind of contour would you suggest for a Quad? Should I stick with the single to double bottom shape?
Rails - How does the Quad fin setup effect the second 1/2 of your rails? What would you suggest? Since the extra fins add some additional bite should you soften the rails at all?
Fins- Do the second set of smaller fins parallel the main sets angle - 1/8inch inwards? It makes sense to me that it would.
i am not sure on the rail profiles, but i find that quads are a bit hard to go rail to rail, so i put some vee in the tail, as opposed to concave.
toe the trailer fins a little less than the front fin - 1/16, set it inside the rail a little more, say 1 3/4 instead of 1 1/4, and cant it less too. this gives the board more of a thruster feel, but not too much…lol.
the fin possibilities are endless, just ask chipfish…
by the way chip, i am following your example on a fish i am making for myself. can’t decide on setup, so gonna set up for all. thanks for the idea.
