quads

I find myself making more and more of them.  So many choices in fin placement, fin size, fin type.  Here’s a couple of recent ones, a 6’3" with controller quad futures, and a 6’6" roundtail quad with fcs fusions…8 degree fronts and 4 degree rears (although it doesn’t look like it in the photo, I had center 0 degree boxes in at the time).  I’ve also been riding a quad gun (8’3") for a couple weeks and it has worked well in our recent good size WNW swells…

I’ve been going 6 and 4 degrees splay (cant). How does using 8 degrees on the fronts affect performance - looser more pivot-y I’m guessing? I noticed FGH had a lot of 9 degree plugs in stock, I was thinking they were just for thruster setups.

Yup I normally hover more around the 6 and 4 degree cants for quads.  this particular board, the whole fin cluster is moved rearward, and a litle extra lift from the higher cant front fins is helpful because the board is on the small/thin side (for me, anyway).  I typically only use the 9 degree fusion box for canards on twinzers…

Very nice…

keithmelville with the 8 degree front cant.

All I can say is owe.

Eh, watch you no kick 'em, yeah?

I would be interested  fin set up on the the 8-3.

I’m still using the FCS Fusion plugs

 0 , 5 , 9 degrees

with my concaves I use alot of  9’s to get 5 or 6

Tried 7 degrees front and really had to grind plastic (post lam).

Best of luck Quad fans!
