Hello,
I want a new longboard for bigger waves, let’s say everything over head, up to 10’ maybe (it’s not getting bigger here often).
right now I have a 9’4" noserider (22 3/4, 3 1/4), and I’m missing some paddle power and thinner rails.
So I’ve been thinking about following board…
10’ x 23" x 3,5" x 17,5" nose x 14,25" tail
wide point a little forward, slightly kick in the nose
I’m not shure about glassing, but what do you think of 6+6+4 deckpatch 4+4 bottom?
or better 6+6+4 deckpatch 6 bottom + 6 tailpatch?
I like heavier boards and want my board to last!
Any ideas for a board like that?
thanks a lot

I have sent you a private message.
66 top / 6 bottom will be very strong, and very ding resistant. If you want you can put a 4 oz stomp patch, and a 4 oz fin reinforcement. The thickness & width of that board will add quite a bit of strength, also what density of blank are you using? Classic weight blank is a lot stronger than the flyweight. And will allow you to use less glass. I do most PU/PE with a 6/4 top and a 6 bottom, and they are bullet proof for a PU/PE.
Don’t make it too heavy, the nature of a big board in PU/PE will be heavy enough, no reason to over kill
If the waves get too big, the board will break no matter what…Doesn’t matter what you make it out of, and how much glass you put on it.
Thanks a lot for your reply!
The foam my board will be made of is blue (normal) safarifoam from south africa.
So I think of 2x6 deck + 4 deckpatch and 6 bottom + 4 finpatch.
Thanks a lot
