Have any of you tried different sized runners? I’m contemplating a bonzer 5-fin setup using shorter runners. I’m interested in finding out in advance - if possible - how small I can go with those and still get the effect.
Sounds like an interesting experiment. What do you hope to accomplish with smaller runners?
You might want to send a message to Ace. He was the ghost shaper for Eaton. He has also made more then a few 5 fin designs that use different style fins.
I haven’t seen ACE around lately. I’m wondering if he’s out of the country again.
I’m contemplating a 6-fin version of the Zinger using a low aspect twin set, possibly a short keel or elliptical. So I want the effect, especially the hold, but I also want to cut down on any tracking or stickiness.
My “ears” were burning.

Leaving in a few days.

Thats how I came up with the “six shooter”

I have played around with lots of possibilities. The important part is to view the “fins” as fins and “channelers”.

When they are set up right THERE IS NO " tracking or stickiness"!!! I know it looks like they would but they don’t.
Fins too far up tended to track. Too far back get sticky. Feel boggey and unresponsive cluster is messed up.
Adios ACE
