Are you making stringers or are you wanting to make hotwiring guides?
Or both.

Stringers and balsa blanks.
Are you thinking of associating the correct/recommended rocker with outline or separate templates.
Your site is killer btw…
Major thumbs up on your website!!! All top quality stuff.
Andrew-
I really like your site too! Anything you add will be appreciated by many. My vote would be stringers and let the shaper add on what they need for roughing.

Awesome site. Thanks for sharing.
Ray
Thanks all. On second thought, the two aren’t much different i suppose. Glad you guys are using the site!!! Stay tuned.
Cheers,
Andrew
Rocker w templates or without, mostly to cut blanks. anything added would be great. your site is the best!
Hey jjlam! Love your site and all the great templates! Currently building a 6’6" Egg to your shape. Rocker templates (without thickness) would be awesome. When may we be lucky enough to see something on the site?
Much respect!
Your site is rad jjlam, I recently shaped one of your nug shapes for a friend, came out great.
Thinking of trying one of your shorty templates next.
It is a privilege to everyone to have access to such a cool site.
Thanks! Post of the year???
Rocker templates would make a very nice addition to your website…
hurra!
Cool site
It’s somewhat unclear if I’m looking at the proven outlines of a master shaper generously sharing his knowledge or the random drawings of someone who is good with computers and printers.
although I suspect the sooner rather than the latter it would still be cool if there was a bit on the descriptions of the design intent of the outlines/rocker templates fins as well as user ride reviews or your experience with them.
Basically adds a little bit of soul to the template.

Why are you trying to piss down on shapings best site with your snotty attitude? Dont add anything of the crap he says. Ive ridden a bunch of his templates and they all work perfectly fine. They are conservative outlines that work. Heaps of boards on this forum come from his site.
as an aside, I would be very interested in paddleboard (prone/knee) outlines and rockers.
Excellent work mate for sure… much apprecaited.

hey jj
i think one thing that would be cool would be spin templates. Ive had trouble finding a piece of mdf thats big enough to fit the longboard cut outs.
Many thanks for your efforts. Ive used lots to create new templates of your originals
Cheers Zac
Zac you can make spin templates from the existing blending curves templates. Print out template, take mdf ( in uk sheets are 8’x4’) draw out tail half of the template, over the whole 8’ length would be my favorite but if you want to make it smaller I’d give at least 6’’ past the mid point for lining up purposes. Then draw out the nose part of the template opposite and opposing the tail template . As long as you mark the centre of the tail and nose it does not really matter how the curves sit opposite each other but in the photo the tail and nose touch the opposite outline curve.
Andrew,
Rocker templates would be awesome.
For me it would be hotwire guides and if possible for entirely selfish reasons can you start with one for the 5’2 nug C
Cheers,
Scot
I think you misinterpreted my post there was no piss, snot, shit (or any other bodily fluids) anywhere within it…If you saw any on your screen while reading it, I’m (fairly) certain it wasn’t mine… :o)
When I settled on rockerline it was after measuring the crap out of alot of boards AND riding them, making notes on how early they got onto plane, board speed, how easily the pearled and responded to back foot pressure. Without riding the boards, the mesaurements themselves were somewhat useless.
To the original posters question, I would LOVE some rockerlines, I build my boards on a rocker table and have the ability to set the rocker anyway I want…however, just haveing some templactes with not other information and not knowing what it was designed for (speed, early planning turning, steep, or mushy waves) would likely result in me making a board that is less awesome than it could’ve been… I assumed the same could be said for the outlines of the boards.
It was also my first time to that site, I didn’t realize it was so widely used and reveered, I meant no insult or slam, just an honest suggestion for improvement.
