quick question and a pic

Hey guys

When you say the board has a …" tail and a …" nose where are you measuring from. How far down the board or up??

Just wanting to know because i always get confused by that.

And just because i feel like it. here is a pic. Hope it works.

that would be a foot, usually measured along the bottom.

your pic didn’t work.

hope it works now.

it worked.

now, what’s it going to take to get me there???

A one way place ticket. A tent. A surfboard and a wettie.

More to drool on. I love sharing my pics.

…nice !!

I love the waves and the crowd. It looks like some fun hotdogging and nose riding waves for us old timers.

I have some pics too, but they are on my website (don’t intend to advertise here).

These were from last week and we got it fairly uncrowded!!!

Those are some freaking nice waves. What i would do for some of those beauts.

U lucky Guy

hey cheater , is that hotties place about an hours drive south of raglan?

when i was there last we went south exploring one day , looking for these beachies where the sand was hot and you could dig a hole and have a warm bath on the waters edge , we heard it got a bit more open swell there as well …

when we finnally got there it was maxed out and onshore , plus i was still having heart pulpatations from driving on these crazy coastal tracks with 100 meter vertical drops to the jagged rocks below and slippery wet gravel roads with hairpin turns and no railings to stop you going over the edge …

im glad to see it gets good and is worth the effort to get there , if its the same place i think it is …

one crazy beautiful country you got there …

searching just adds to the adventure …

heres a few random slices of west oz …

regards

“surf travel photos… share your stoke” oops wrong thread sorry chip

Actually hotties or hot water beach is on the coromandel. A peninsula on the north island. Its east of auckland.

Yea those are pretty typical roads when out in the back country. They are super fun to drive on. Aha. Hot water beach is on the east coast and also has a hot water spring that you dig holes at low tide for a spa. thay are awsome after a surf.

I havnt really been to far south of raglan on the west coast. The west coast is constantly being pounded with massive surf, so you actualy have to wait for a SMALL day to surf, crazy aye. If you go far enough you get to taranaki, a surfers dream. A long road streches around Mount Taranaki. The road is called surf highway. Awsome place.

Those pictures look nice and i particularly like the little a frame.
