has anyone ever had a room with racks closer to one wall than the other? I’m contimplating moving my racks over so they are 5 ft from one wall and 6.5 ft from the other so I have a little more room on the side I generally find myself on. Not sure if the added distance will mess with the side lights flooding up some??
Shit dude. My sheds 8’x 6’ . And make 7’ boards!
That’s how my first one was super tight. This is more of a luxury than a problem. I just wonder if moving the racks closer to one side will allow too much flooding on the longer side distorting the shape
My first two boards were done with only one flood light in the corner of the room. It sucked and was super hot, but still came out fine. Maybe there would be a slight difference in the light, but I’m sure you’d still be able to see the lines pretty well
If in doubt, flip the board so its going the other way to double check yourself. I only have sidelights on one side of my shop, cuz of the way its set up.
I ended up just trimming my shelves by 5" on each side keeping the racks centered. Shaped this this morning and I had plenty of room happy with the decision.
Center the racks to the room and to the lights. If you need more room get rid of the shelves. Guys shaped for years without shelves over their sidelights. of course if you don’t care how “Wonkie” your shapes are; carry on with some of the weird above advice. Lowel
