Rail plugs or Center plugs

I am doing a 2 + 1 set up on my board. Do I use rail plugs for the little side bite fins or center plugs? I was asking this because they sent me just center plugs no rail plugs. Thanks for the input.

John, FCS rail plugs for side bites. They have a small R and an arrow that points to the rail. The slots are offset slightly, so if you’re using their template system you’ll need the rail plugs in order to be accurate. Doug

Howzit John, The center plugs will work just fine. The only difference between the two is the rail plugs have an angle to in them where as the centers don’t. What I suggest is when you drill the holes is to angle them a little like the fin will be. This should keep the plug in the center of the hole. I accidentally put a rail plug in the center and the center on the rail recently and there was no problem. After sanding the board you couldn’t tell the difference and the fins are how they should be. Aloha, Kokua
