What are your experiences with fins from Rainbow Fin Company?
I really like the idea to buy handmade fins instead of some injection molded plastic fins from overseas and have held Rainbow fins in high regard, making the lokbox system etc., but I have ordered two fin sets from them that are both flawed. In the last set, the side fins both had different outlines, one side was missing the clear coat and on one fin there was a large area of unsaturated glass going right through to the bamboo core. This is not the level of craftmanship I would have expected from them...
So, what are your experiences with Rainbow fins? Was it just bad luck?
I’ve bought quite a few sets from Rainbow. Both custom and stock fins. They were of excellent quality and the people at Rainbow are nice people. I had one bad fin where the cant was off. The set was replaced immediately. Have you contacted Rainbow directly? It’s best to go to the source and give the opportunity to correct the problem before posting on the World Wide Web. Mike
faded, Rainbow has been around a long time unlike alot of these importers that call themselves fin companys. Making custom fins we make mistakes but Rainbow and I do take of our customers for almost 30 to 40 years. Give Rainbow a call and tell them Larry sent you. And for those of you that don't know, send Shawd at Rainbow your prayers. He Broke his neck a week ago and is healing this Holiday Season. Merry Christmas my Swaylockian friends. Mahalo, Larry
