I finally bit the bullet and shaped my first board!! 6'4" by 19 3/4 by 2 3/4, from a US Blanks 6'6" EA blank. All in all, the process wasn't too hard, and I am very happy with the finished product. Now it's time to glass it, and I know for sure (after much work with fiberglass in a past life) that I'd rather pay someone to do it.
Aquatech Glassing in Marina Del Rey is closest to me. I've read some less than happy posts about dealing with them, but I've also gotten lots of positive references. Anyone used them in the recent past? I'm going with a basic sand finish, no color, standard PU blank. Quad fin setup with FCS boxes. If you could also tell me what I might expect to pay, I'll owe you a beer too...
Thanks!
Dominic
