Recycling Acetone

I saw a device in a Florida glass shop that recycled acetone…it was fairly small and sat on a bench. I think it was kind of like a “moonshine still” and they swore by it. Do any of you guys know about this?

never heard of anything like that but it would be a very helpful tool to have around while doing production work.

Guys, they are very simple and mandantory here California, waste acetone costs a bundle to dispose of. Just the dry waste that is cooked out of the dirty acetone is over 400.00$ a barrel to have it properly diposed of.

Hey Jim did we even have acetone around in the base hobby shop? Seems to me like we used a lot of soap but I may be wrong.

Cleanlines- I was just wondering about this myself. As my gallon cans of spent acetone have piled up I’m thinking surely there is some way to filter/distill it back into use. Here is some info but no prices. http://www.acetone-recycling.com/ Tom S.>>> I saw a device in a Florida glass shop that recycled acetone…it was > fairly small and sat on a bench. Since you mentioned the Spectrum Factory in Melbourne,Fla. Did they ever find out why/how it burned down? The last I heard they thought it might be electrical. I also heard the factory was not insured. I guess that is the end of that?
