i am about to order some blanks and was planing on making a few retro type bonzers 6’6" ish and a few 7’ish single fins… i noticed on mandalcustomshapes.com and joeltudor.com that many of their boards say “reduced rocker”… so my question is how much reduction? of course it depends on the blank so i guess a better way to ask is how much rocker do these “retro” type boards like…
if u have a Clark catalog the “A” series are a good choice.
Low tail rocker could be categorized to be around 1.5 to 2 inches,
Nose 3.5 to 4.5 inches.
You can estimate rocker dimensions using the catalog profile drawings and compare to actual board profile photos…your eyes are the most important design/shaping tool you have. Stand back about 10-20 feet from your own boards and you’ll have a better view of rocker.
