Looking for some tips/guidance on catylzing gloss. Shop temp average around 80-85 degrees right now humidity 50-80% as of late. Im using reichold gloss. Would like for the gloss to start to gell around 10-12 minutes. Any help greatly appreciated!
How good are you at glossing? Do you use a good brush? What issues are you having now? I would start with just over 1cc cat per ounce of resin…e.g. 15 ccs to 12 ozs…but that assumes you don’t waste any time in getting the gloss on the board evenly. If you want 11 minutes to kick, that’s probably more catalyst than you need. Good luck and post your results…
Keith’s numbers seem pretty good to get you in your ball park.
If it takes longer than a few mins to gloss your doin too much work haha. Less is more.
I’ve gotten my best results with warm resin and a warm board.
Warm resin.
Warm room
No air movement
Clean board.
I do Longboards with 6oz of resin @10ccs ijn 75 -80 degree temps
