Remember Midget Farrelly's gun ?

Do you remember this legendary picture of B Farrelly taken from behind in the 70s when walking down the beach to get in the water ? Red trunks, carrying under his arm a beautiful single fin gun.

I think it must have been 9’ or so, maybe 20" or 21" wide, but it’s hard to tell given the angle of the board on the picture.

I am trying to shape a replica of this board but I’m having a hard time with the outline and the templates.

Can anyone help with some accurate information or memories ?

Thanks a lot !

Can’t answer your questions but I did see Midget twice in the last two days. I don’t know him personaly but if I see him in Manly (where he was training with his surf boat crew, can you say waterman) in the next week, I’ll direct him to this thread.

Paul

PS You could also PM him as he does post here regularly particularly in the industry forum especially in regards to “Surfblanks Australia”.

Thanks Paul, I did PM him actually and have more details to get along now. Thanks a lot.

that looks more like 18’’ wide.

period speeking deck color etc

it’s in the B.K period and 9’ was less likely

I think shorter.

proportion your estimiates

to be relative to midget’s

actual height,Iand length of hand to arm pit

as the board is held at a great angle

to fil this space it is quite narrow.

I dont belive him to be 6’8’’ although

his rep is suffiient to make him 20’tall.

…ambrose…

perhaps phone him and request the dimensions

and order the appropriate blank
