Removable Head

with removable heads variable junction to post adjustments can be made when buckets are in place in intended use location and fixed at proper cant with single sheet rock screw through ply into post ,plan bypasses need to better than eyeball plumb…availiable materials primary my set the rusty resin buckets about to decompose to crumbling flakes… enough old concrete and gravel the posts sont need tape… ambrose…

That’s what I do, tape up & across the post, both ways.

I use old Coleman-style camping coolers for buckets. A form of recycling… and they have handles, which makes them easier to move. The older ones even have bottle openers built into the handles!!! I find them at yard sales, swap meets, by the side of the road… You can also use Rubbermaid rectangular buckets but they aren’t as strong (tend to bulge at the sides from the weight of the concrete), and they are harder to find for free (or $1 or $2).

Hmmm, now I’m looking at those empty Fresh Step cat litter buckets (square) in a different light. Since they hols a fair weight of the litter, they might hold up well filled with Concrete…

we just put them in ther with big rocks at the bottom to make them look straight. then concrete then big rocks then concrete then concrete and they looked straight and we were happy. mine are even pretty level without any shims or anything. a third of a piece of used sandpaper folded in half makes them perfect.

Yup, lots of ways to skin a cat. I use metal (Strong-Tie brackets) for the upper part, vs. your plywood. I like them because they are sturdy, but small enough to use the same racks for glassing as for shaping. I never thought about making interchangeable “heads” but then I’ve used mine to handle boards up to a 12’2" tandem blank, and they worked fine…

those are mighty fine looking removable heads you got there…uh, what are those round disk thingy things you have under the buckets?
