REPAIR QUESTION?

Im usually good with ding repair, but i dont know what to do with a ding here. It is a crack in the gloss coat across the bottom of my long board. how do i repair it. I dont think from what i can see that it goes to the fiberglass. Also the board is a blue resin tint bottom.-thanks for any help josh

I have a picture of the crack also, attached

Hi Josh,

Yep, common or garden variety stress crack. Was that little ding at one end of it there before? That’s something you may want to look at.

What I would do is sand carefully, say no coarser than 150 grit, clean well with air and then acetone to get rid of the dust, then regloss the crack. Use thinned sanding resin, thin with acetone or styrene to the viscocity of milk, lets say, and that should soak in well enough so that it’ll be invisible.

Wet sand ( to 400 grit) and polish as need be. And you’re done.

hope that’s of use
