I’ve spoken to a couple of people who import Resin Research by the drum from the States and it’s costing about $8,000 NZD ($6,200 USD) to do it. What’s going on? Resin Research is $2,800 USD to buy a drum of resin and half a drum of hardener in the States (at least according to resinresearch.net.) In New Zealand it’s almost double that amount. Ditto for ordering Marko foam in a quantity of fifty direct from the States as well. What gives?
I would guess the problem is hazardous materials shipping…
Deanbo,
Why don’t you try Nuplex epoxy resin, they are a good NZ company. The resin you want is the FGI R180 with the FGI surfset hardner. This is a clear and fast setting epoxy even at 18C and doesn’t mind polyester fill coats.

Try the stuff from ATL Deanbo, I think its called kinitex or something along those lines, cheaper than FGI and easy to work with and from those who’ve used both just as good as RR.
