…after squeegeeing the coloured resin …
p.s. - okay , so the colours used here were … yellow , red , burgundy , and blue squeegeed over three clear layers of 6oz , from memory . then about 35 layers of 6oz laminated clear on top of those three coloured layers. seems to give a bit of “depth” to the swirl effect , it kinda looks a bit more “three dimensional” this way , i guess ? cheers and keep surfing ! ben
(noob here)
I’ve been making fins too, and I have to point out this :
Some (expensive!) reflective fabrics that look stunning in the daylight just turn to the solid background colour of the fabric when covered in resin !
I have some lovely plain black fins that cost a small fortune !
Arrrgh !
true
but those boardshorts in your avitar photo would sure make some bright fins !!
cheers
ben
…and i still have six more panels to cut out .
As well as over 100 fins still needing to be foiled.
[ THAT should keep me busy between here and christmas , while the summer flat spell descends …]

…this will be used for a pair of twinnies , and possibly a pair of matching ‘superchargers’ … panel permitting !
cheers !
ben
Ben they look ace. …how big? MR sized? Cheers rich
hi Rich , thanks for the compliment , mate !
They are around 5 1/2 " x 5 1/2 "
…now, maybe I can thicken up the remaining piece , to get a double-foiled ’ M.R. TX ’ sized back fin out of it , eh ?!
cheers !
