You are choosing a nice forgiving color Teddy.I try to add a little white but that is your choice.I try to fold my laps cleanly.they will cross over each other, after trimming I sand down the bump…yellow is really transparent and it will look ok…make sure to save a little bit of the original resin mix.If you make mistake you can come back and fix it.Yellow is my favorite color…it doesnt get hot in the sun and disguises the inevitable browning of the foam.

what’s a good ratio or % for mixing in a liquid pigment. 2 oz. per qt? or just using your eye?

Just eyeball it…my lam buckets are white on the inside so I can get a good idea of what it will look like on the foam…just add a little at a time until you like it.Make sure that you stir it well and run it thru a strainer. If it looks to bright you can tone it down with white…I do this a lot and get a semi opaque look…you can still see the stringer.Lam paper will turn a different color so I wouldn’t use it.If you want to put a lam on do it after the board is glassed and before the hotcoat.
