RESIN TINTS (Help!)

I need some help with a question? When using 7.5oz volan and 6oz silane on the deck, Will you have any problems doing a colored tint? Do you have to use two layers of the same glass? will the color streak, will it delame easy? Next Question? I know colored tints will fade over time, but will they fade in six months on a board used 4 times a month? Thanks for the help!! SCSURF

hi gene, it figures…i just brought a small assortment of the food color looking stuff for my first tinted glass job. what do i risk by using this as opposed to the evercoat paste that you suggested. also, if i go looking for the evercoat, do they make transparents and opaques? or does one control opacity by using more or less of the paste. thanks and regards

Delaming is caused by crushed down foam under glass from your bony rear foot or knees, the use of ‘classic’ weight foam greatly reduces this occurance.

if i go looking for the evercoat, do they make transparents and opaques? hey ramon, personally i wouldn’t use the liquid. the yellow evercoat is #505. it doesn’t say its a tint or opaque but one to two oz. for one side looks good and is nice bright trans. be sure to strain all your tinted resin. don’t get the other colors from evercoat, it just covers the yellow problem but at a higher cost. all the other colors in paste form work fine from hastings or fiberglass hawaii. home depot might have stopped carrying the evercoat, it was the cheapest source. http://www.cooperfishsurfboards.com
