So Long story short I lucked out and got my grubby paws on a 10’ 4" Velzy… and being the Kook that I am I insist on surfing it rather dooming it to decoration status. Now comes the bad news. an outside set sweeps me and another kind fella into a short dance, and sure enough, she has a major ding. Now comes my question. Should I be looking into restoration work, or simple repairs? At this stage I want to throw some off color resin in and go on surfing, but now I have the concern in the back of my mind I could reduce value in an heirloom if I do not have proper work done. The tricky part is the damage is in a colored part of the board, so a home-made repair will be functional but obvious. Here is my question. Is it worth it to reduce her to ridden status, and push her to her doom, or should I save her and hang her on the wall? This is a later model, Clark Foam though, signed by the hawk, but she ride so damn nice…
Thread closed. She is going to Kennedy in Woodland hills for a class act rebuild. And she is gonna get ridden till every last moment is gone. No wall hanging for my sweety, she likes the ocean too much.
