whatsize retro longboard(dimensions) are most of you guys who are around > 175lbs using /recommending for 1-4ft eastcoastwaves/beachbreak??somuch out > there to choose from…thanks for the help… These are the dimensions of my small beach break board. 9’4’’ x 19’’ x 23’’ x 15.5’’ x 3’’ I have a 6" square tail with single fin and concave nose, very little rocker in the nose and tail, 8oz. volan on bottom and top with knee patch. I also weight 140. This board would work for someone in the 140-180 range. I notice a lot of the heavies riding 10’ epoxy boards I would recommend the “Nostalgia” surfboard shaped by Bob Miller of ASD Surfboards. The dimensions of this board are 10’ x 18’’ x 23 1/4’’ x 15’’ x 3 3/8’'. www.asdsurfboards.com http://www.asdsurfboards.com
You might try looking at a Hobie Slug or Stewart Hydro-Glide. Both are flat and wide and might be good in the conditions you describe. Not sure about those thumping hurricane swells though.
