I was wondering if anyone has ever tried doing a hard edge forward then transitiong to a softer rail in the back. My thought would be that if you were a very front footed surfer (drive front foot turn back foot) the release in the front would help you get speed and the soft rail in the rear would allow you to sink it for turns and control. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Nup.
I reckon the front would grab and want to be dragged up the face of the wave and grab on turns. The back would drag through the water and not bite in turns.
Just my thoughts.

On a long board works brilliantly. John Peck Penetrator being a prime example. I have a home made version which is my favourite board for noseriding .

I know that Tommy at SSS in St. Augustine has done a few and they work great. You can contact him at this website.
Go to the message board and look for SSS.
Nev Hyman used to do a reev rail on Micheal" MUNGAR" Barry’s boards for a while. I’ve never ridden one and don’t like the concept but they are out there.
