Hey Guys
I was wondering if anyone could review my pdf of a board I’m hoping to get cut.
I’ve never got a board cut before so it would be great if you can see if I’m heading in the right direction.
Its going to be a 6ft single fin, 20 wide and 2 7/16 thick.
Many Thanks
are you using Shape 3D version X or AKU Shaper?
I designed it in AKU, but I think thought you get a clearer view in shape3d…
Am I wrong? Are both programs compatible?
It’s hard to pick up on issues looking at an 8" board on screen. Your nose outline/rocker may need a bit of tweaking so that you can see a “Turkish slipper” effect looking from the tail. Look down some real boards and you should see what I mean.
I think that your rails might end up a bit hard in the nose and soft in the tail - but that may just be the little pic.
Just looks like a drawing on a computer screen to me.
As long as you are having fun, its all good.
But first, what do you weigh, how tall, years of surfing/ age, height, where you plan on surfing, … but similar to Mako, just a little picture with a few measurements doesn’t tell the whole story. Even after it is machine cut, there is a long way to go.
I think Al Merrick said real shaping happens at 120 grit. something like that. GhettoRat would probably know the quote better than me. I read it a long time ago.
