got the Hotwire runing very smoothly. now the machine cut Eps blanks and without changing the router head you can shape the board right after all into the same software, super efficient.
this is pure freedom of surfboard shaping.
Thanks SD!!
I Am now taking orders for machines,
I worked out all the bugs from the previous design, I wont be doing the old mechanic and the old rails anymore as they were not good enough for a production machine and way too mush trouble adjusting them but the price will remain low.
the machine is now longer at 12’3’’ x 40’’ cutting surface (machine is actually 14 feet long.) its including all software, hotwire module and dust attachment and all the upgrade listed in a few post above,
The machine i made one by one, by me with extreme care and precision, its primary made for surfboards, windsurf or kite but will add option like table top for cutting signage (great for tradeshows, or store advertising etc…). we will also add a laser scanner is the near future. we are working on it with Jonas (boardcad programmer) as we speak.
the machine is so strong, enough to cut aluminum, timber and foam.
I beleive its still the cheapest machine for that kind of quality and size. production is limited as i build them to order.
12’ 3’’ x 40’’ 23 500 us
1500us per foot after 12’3’’
shipping is usually around 1500$ to Hawaii from Canada, it will be shipped in a wooden crate.
I have a few machines on orders so book your spot if you are interested.
thanks for taking time to check out my post and thanks for the support in my new venture, The Idea to make a affordable machine is really to be able to get the smaller guy on board with production help, hopefully this will help the industry to stay in the West, its hard enough as it is to make a living with surfboards, specially with the 200$ chinese board flooding our market place. the machine was based on that idea but the machine is top quality, enough to run day in/day out for years so buy with confidence.
cheers!

Louis… Looks good. In bali there is 240volts… I saw a beaut 240v variac the other day in ace hardware for about $45 bucks. Hope that helps…
Great Job…
Whats the Leadtime and Deposit?
Feral, did you see the variac in Oz, for that machine i was gonna use a step down but if you can buy me one ill pay you for your time… i am also looking for a good 240v fix router is someone as suggestion, hard to find in america.
Acqua, take me 2 weeks to order everything and get custom parts cut, then i need 9 weeks to build. deposit is half upfront, then we get it box and ready to ship. pay the balance and up on the truck to you!
pretty painless really. i find the shipper unless you have someone you want to deal with.
I have some good people i work with here.
The variac is in bali as are many step down transformers and uniteruptible power supply’s. … Ace hardware is bout 5 mins Down the road from petey so you will have no worrys getting when your there. Ba.
BaLi is hard to find tools on the Internet… Once your there someone will take you shopping to find all you need. Petey has been there a while and will be able to point you into the right direction…
I have not seen anyone or any signs of a cnc flatbed router being used there, I think it’s an emerging market fr cnc machinery…
Thanks FD.
i wont even bring the 120v then!
i didnt know you know Petey!
pretty stoked on Bali right now plus will be fun for Petey to have this new toy to play with…
I am starting a new machine for Japan, I changed a few things about the frame. keep checking in i will keep posting pictures. its getting good… almost got the scanner ready!

hotwire bow for cutting EPS blanks
higest quality linear rails

BOSch aluminum frame, best quality,
16’’ of Zaxis travel
all software included!
this is a work horse and wont last long!
dont pass this up!
ready to ship!
Here some of the machine cuts. its been nicely tuned,i used a normal endmill to cut this one instead of the bigbullnose like most machine and i am getting better rail.
it does take about 2 min longer per side but the result is insane on the rails. everytime i clean up shape form other machine the rails is always different than what i design on the cad, now with the smaller bit its exactly the same. the deck is not as clean but its nothing to clean up like usual. guys with machine should try it.
the bits are only 10$ instead of 300$… the results are very good and its cut the stinger like nothing, sometimes with the bullnose, the bit get gummed up with the wood, specially sappy wood. a bit of a pain. i am not saying that the bullnose is not good but i have good result with a cheap bit.
I see lots of machines leave huge block on tail and nose, those boards just came out of the machine near finish.
i am verry happy with the way its cutting.
Love the revolucion. Are there any videos of a shape being cut? I looked at your YouTube channel but i didnt see any.
Does the machine/software also scan boards? If so, how does the software interpolate making a bigger or smaller shape from a scan?
Thanks,
i ll make a video when i have time.
the software does use a laser scan. its made with boardcad. you get some points with a laser or a probe. you can then open the board in boardcad and use the scale button to make it the size that you like.
cheers!
Hi louis,
what brand of suction cups are you using on you machine? and what tipe of suction? I need to put on my machine I build, but I dont know noting about pneumatic, if you can send me a pic I will appreciate.
thanks
Maximiliano N.
check out anver, try to use 4" or bigger, not too hard. pump can be different, ventury, or vaccum bagging pump work but if you have cash buy a big one. a little foam tape around the suction cups help. eps is always hard to suck so prep the blank with good quality tape or drywall potty and run your cut a bit slower.
cheers!
Thanks Luois,
I´m waiting for the cups to arrive I will let you know, I found Piab suctions cups and I will test, I´m having trouble with the boarcad software on the z axis, it always cut 1cm each side no matter what size I build the board or my blank its, doing some test anyway thanks for all bro
