Anyone out there know who is making those revolving surfboard display racks for retail display. I’ve seen them at Channel Islands and Ron John’s and it seems like a good space saver and unique way to display. They are kind of like a kid’s merry go round, with support to hold boards vertically. No motor or anything like that, just spin by hand.
Thoughts?

You’re looking for a “Stick Stand”. Their website is www.stickstand.com, but it doesn’t appear to be working at the moment. You can reach them at 877 242 8102 or
You can also buy one from one of their dealers.
Here’s the non-rotating one at wetsand - http://www.wetsand.com/product.asp?locationid=4&ProdId=2660&CatId=917
The full line at boardshorts - http://www.boardshorts.com/accessories.htm
Kendall,
Thanks for the response. The racks you sent are a bit different than I have seen but could be a good alternative. I’m beginning to think that they are custom built. The base is circular. There are arms that extend from a pole in the center to hold the board vertically and rings (ovals) near the base to set the tail of the board in. The whole deal then can spin on it’s axis to ‘file’ through the boards. Any engineers / welders out there ready to take this project on?

Did a bit more research on this and found the racks. They are Rocky Racks - SP1200. Unfortunately, RR is not making these racks at the moment. Anyone out there looking to sell this rack system?
Thanks!
John
Here’s the link to their PDF brochure (4MB File)-

There’s a picture of the sp 1200 in there. You could print that PDF file and take it to a local fabrication shop and have them make you something similar.
