Ribz Carbon Reinforcement Tape Glassing

Hi All -

What’s the best sequence for glassing on Ribz Carbon Reinforcement Tape? Should you lam this on top of the glass, post lam coat, pre hotcoat? Just looking to reinforce the tail rails a bit on a new board I’m shaping, but not sure how to approach the carbon tape install.

I put mine in between the the two layers of cloth, like you would for logos.

Thanks ONFIRE. Is the wet-out alright, or do you have to use the saran-wrap trick?

Yeah just spread a lil resin where you want to put the tape, place it, squeeze out air bubbles and extra resin and glass as normal. Never herd of saran wrap trick, when hot coating you might have to put an extra bead around the edge of where the tape is, if it is raised at all. 

this is the first board i did with them, I should have moved them back some.

For carbon patches, you could sand a depression into the blank, and then glass them in so they are flosh with the foam.

I sanded down where the carbon goes, so that top of carbon was flush with top of foam.  Then glass over it all.

Thanks for the advice ONFIRE and everysurfer. The saran wrap thing was something I read a few times on sways about using the wrap to smooth out the carbon fiber cloth and work out bubbles, while leaving everything smooth.
