Rice Paper Weight

I’m looking to buy some rice paper from an art store here in town, but wanted to get the right weight paper for it. Anyone who has any knowledge on the subject your input is much appreicated. Thanks

Kevin

silky heavy is the proper wait for the use in an ink jet printer

I just bought some rice paper at Rhino Art Company… it is really light weight  Try a true artist supply store near you. you want the kind that does not have the big fibers showing. look for what looks to wet out clear… Michaels does not sell the right stuff. I hear FoamEZ sells the good stuff.

Haole Boy,

I just bought a 15"wideX50’long roll of No P-904 Oriental Rice Paper, manufactured by Loew Cornell, at the A.C. Moore craft store in South Portland, ME. It looks like the same weight and texture as the rice paper I got from Foam-EZ. It cost around $10. So, I second the vote for arts & craft stores. However, I had to try two other craft stores before I found the right stuff.

Good luck, brah,

John

The heavier the weight, the more ink it can hold and you get a brighter picture. the downside is that heavier papers are less transparent when laminated. I use heavy paper, spray a light coat of white krylon on the back, cut it exactly to the border, and lam. You can’t tell it from a silkscreen logo. I get my paper from Tall Mouse craft stores and it’s made by Yasutomo & Co, 6-H weight, 9x12" 48 sheet pad.

i dont know what the weight of the stuff i use is but it works really good. i got a 50 foot roll for like 10 bucks at a michales art and craft store.
