Ok sports fans, the circus has hit town, and I know this because, in a already overcrowded spot, in fact I will go so far as to say , this is the most crowded surf spot in the world and let me tell you this not a claim you would want for your home beach, as I was saying, I know this because, for a start parking, to get a park down at Snapper on a normal day, you have to be lucky, to put it mildly. I have a system that works for me in a crowded place, when I am driving in and not before, I say to myself, BORN TO PARK, and I am, got one yesterday, got one today, just with the kids after school to have a look at it, from Greenmount lookout. Let me tell you, it was looking good, they don’t call it the Super Bank for nothing. What I am offering to you, sports fans, is a veiw for the next six weeks, yep that’s pretty much how long Quiksilver have been allowed to take over our break, they are setting up now and they take another couple of weeks to pull it all down. So instead of getting narcy about it, cause there will be bits I dig, I’m gonna give reports, if you’re a punter[read betting person] I will give you insights to your favoured surfer, I will give you reports from the verandah of my surfclub, where we have a beer or six after we’ve surfed, or if it was too manic, we may have just had beers anyway. I will try to make it fair, but understand this, I’m not getting paid, I’m doing it for fun and one other important reason, on the China thread going at the moment, it has gotten pretty wild, civil, but So off topic, I went up to Milchys this morning for a bit of a look and I said to him,‘this has got nothing to do with surf design, they barred Silly about the whales, he said’ maybe because of that this is allowed to run’, and I think Swaylocks has grown a notch or two, let it run, don’t bar anyone, there is so many smart people on this thing, the cream will rise and the dropkicks will fade, so if you want know how your favourite surfer is shaping up or just how the Brazilan chicks are looking in the corner, I’m going to try and tell you, for the simple reason, it felt like a good idea at the time. If the water gets clear , might go for a dive and see how your southern rockies are going. Don’t mean to disturb you, but I hav’nt been able to get a decent lobster around here since the early to mid 80’s, the’re all going to Japan, true, H.

What’s the name of the rookie again, I’ll keep an eye out for him, see how he’s going, must be exciting for the new blokes. Well the swell has dropped today and I doubt if you could get another guy or girl out there, although always room for one more, the banks have come back, to a degree, any problems they will just turn on the sand machine, over for now, H.

The new boy…Jordy Smith. Big, powerfull and can draw solid lines…sounds like the sorta shape you have in your got experience with.

Jordy Smith and Dane Reynolds, every ones heard about those two, should give the status quo a bit of a shake, looking forward to seeing them in action. The wave should suit both of them. I hav’nt even looked at the form guide yet, it’s early days. I should point out only locals have won at Snapper, Mick Lowe won over at Rainbow Bay and the year before last when Kelly won, it was baby D Bar. Bede is a new local, nearly pulled it off last year, but he put a real lot of work in out there before hand. I’m not going to make any predictions, But I have a slight feeling about Dean Morrison. Winds gone onshore at Snapper, were some solid ones at D Bar earlier, over H.

I love the carpark mantra. I have yet to require this technique in the F’ng carpark, though the handful of times I went out a Snapper I found the following useful when faced with someone inside EVERY wave that moved :- “Fall off KOOK Fall off KOOK Fall off KOOK…” It worked, about 4 out 0f 5…

Sports fans, sorry hav’nt been reporting much, been a bit crook and limited computer access. Well the swell today has come right up, very clean, hav’nt been watching too much of it, just touching base to let you know I’m still keen to let you guys know what’s happening. The trials start on Friday, main the next day. Ray the manager of the surf club said I can use his computer during the contest, as long as I don’t get on any porno sites, as if! Just a matter of tracking down my vip pass for the front deck and the free beer, got one every other year, so I am confident. One last thing I have to report, the beer sponser appears to have changed from Forsters to Corona, don’t think anyones to upset about that. Sentimental favourite at this stage is Parko, when I get hold of a form guide , I’ll tell you more, I have been asking for people’s tips, righto sports fans over for now, H.
