Just looked at my neck of the woods, a 2 meter rise will lift the water level over the weirs near Gloucester making even longer bore rides possible, a 7 meter rise will mean we start surfing at Gloucester, instead of 18 miles downstream with rides potentially all the way past Worcester, Kiddiminster and maybe as far as Telford, or taking the Avon up to Evesham…Now that would be a LONG ride. Unfortunately it will mean we have to fly to Cornwall as the motorway will be underwater through Somerset and parts of Devon…Even a rise of 50cm will make life interesting for those living right next to the Severn at the minute. Better buy a houseboat.
wow, my house and my next door neighboor would have our own island with a 12 meter rise. that might be nice. allthough hurricane surf would then break over my house, as the barrier island is gone. I think I like 8 meters the best, it gives me waterfront property without sacrificing protection. I’d have my own harbour connected to tampa bay.
14 meters would gave me 3-4 blocks to the beach for my parents house . . .
Its cool how they formulated based on how water flows into low lying areas.
If all ice caps / glaciers would melt sea level would rise 80.32 meters . other places in google have people saying ocean will rise only 6 inches . . . if all caps / glaciers melted . . . weird huh?
