Rocker - Blank question

Hi Guys,

I have searched the archives as much as i can, but still need a little help.

I am going to shape a 6’2’’ fish, and the closest blank i can get is a 6’5’’ kneeboard blank. (In Aus.)The nose rocker is 5 5/8’’ and the tail rocker 2 1/8’'.

Would the best option be to leave the tail rocker and take 3’’ off the nose ? Or 2’’ off the nose and 1’’ off the tail ?

Thanks for your help

cant you just order it with less rocker?

In the Clark Foam catalogue they go in depth explaining how to order custom rockers on a blank.

Thanks guys… but this blank is the only one (i think) that i can get here (Australia) that has the thickness and width I need.

You need to do a little more blank research - a catalog with drawings is critical. A larger longer blank cut to length may give you all the dimmensions you need…you could easily make a 6’2 out of a 7’2+ blank and get the right amount of rocker.

If your supplier is limited then try another supplier if available.

Otherwise custom rocker or stock rocker is the call.

Take your time and figure it out.
